With OWL Certificates, you upload your .pdf templates and instruct OWL how to award those end of exam documents:

  • Designate specific documents based on performance thresholds - like percentages, points, or a scale like ACTFL Standards or CEFR Levels.

  • Include system variables in your .pdf form such as your examinee’s name.

  • Can be combined with Automatic Notifications.

 

Building Certificates

 
  1. Go to the Building menu >> Certificates

  2. Click Create

  3. Complete the descriptive fields to define your certificates list

  4. Determine the cut off type for your list

  5. Deter mine the cut off threshold for receipt of the given certificate

  6. upload your .pdf file

  7. Click the +Add New Option button to include additional tiers

  8. To remove a row, click on the trash control

  9. Click Save

Attaching Certificates to Your Assignment

 
  1. Create an OWL Assignment

  2. In the Assignment Builder, select the certificates list from the Certificates drop down.

  3. If you are using the [ASSIGNMENT_ORGANIZATION] variable enter it in the Organization field

Awarding Certificates

 
  1. From the Assessment Menu, Select Certificates Awarded.

  2. Use the column filtering controls as needed to narrow your selection.

  3. Use the Click to download link to save an individual’s certificate.

  4. Select responses, using the checkboxes.

  5. Use the Email to Examinee button to send the certificate to the test taker.

Certificates w/ Automatic Notifications

 
  1. Create a Message Template

  2. Include this variable at the bottom of your template: [RATING_CERTIFICATE_URL]

  3. Add an Automatic Notification to the your Assignment

  4. The Event for the notification should be “Rating Finalized” or “Rating Published”
